Day 015 - A picture of something you want to do before you die

Well I went back to check my list and chose something from it, but then I looked at where I was trying to think of ideas for each day and saw that I wrote this and was like "Yes! That is what I want to do before I die!" Haha so here it is...

Go on a Hot Air Balloon Ride!!

That sort of reminded me of one of my favorite childhood books...

Day 014 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

Well, there are a lot of people I really couldn't imagine my life without because life would be different if any one person wasn't in it, so this is another difficult one. Man, they all got so difficult all of a sudden!

So as I was showering I figured out that if I had to pick someone I wouldn't be able to and I definitely say my family :-)

Day 013 - A picture of your favorite band or artist

This is so perfect since today is Kate's birthday, so I think you already know who my favorite band is going to be...

So today I started to realize that I try to be so grown up and act my age and convince everyone that I'm so old even though I look young when I am young. I am still so youthful, so fun, and have so much ahead of me. When I told people I am 23 yesterday and today they sort of comment on how nice it is to be young. I never really realized how lucky I am to be 23, I just always saw it as getting older and that I am past my youth because I graduated and now have to be an adult, like that happens overnight or something. Yes, I need to be more responsible, yes I pay bills, but does that mean I can't go to the park and swing on the swings for a half hour? No, it does not. So I think that's how I ended up at the park today. There is something about swinging that just makes me feel so free of everything. I can be contemplative or I can just close my eyes and enjoy the feel of the wind rushing past and the air blowing my face as I move. I can just try to reach the branches of the tree and not quite reach but keep thinking if I could just go a little higher I might be able to make it. I remember feeling on top of the world when I would swing as a child, I wanted to be Peter Pan and fly to Neverland. The branches were the star and I was almost there and I would keep trying until I could reach them. Sitting there swinging today I realized how much swinging has taught me about life. My countless attempts as a child to touch the branches and never give up taught me to never give up on my dreams. No matter how unattainable something may look, it is really just within reach. It's so wonderful to swing and realize that I have so much to live for and that no matter what happens, I will never give up on achieving my goals. I <3 Swings.

Day 012 - A picture of something you love

Happy Birthday to Me
Happy Birthday to Me
Happy Birthday to MEEEEEE
Happy Birthday to Me :-)

The thing I love is my birthday, and oh boy, it's today! Haha okay that was goofy, but seriously, love it and I loved today!

This morning I went to work and my boss bought me a cake, a beanie baby, and balloons! She also got some of the managers and sales trainers to sign a card for me. I felt so loved, and it was so nice of them. The day seemed to go by pretty quickly and I was just feeling so happy!

Then I got home and my grandma was waiting for me on the porch. She had texted both my mom and I trying to figure out when we were getting home because we were supposed to go get our nails done. She got a little difficult but we all ended up at the nail place together so it was okay. It ended up being my grandma, my mom, my sister, and my friend LC. Oh and my grandma got me a laptop case!

The nails looked great and so we went to dinner. It ended up being just my immediate family and was tons of fun! Right about when we got back to the house my boyfriend arrived so we got the ice cream cake out (since there wasn't much time until my friends would start meeting to go out) and started defrosting. I called back my grandparents and chatted with them a bit and then we got ready for cake.

They sang and I started to cut the cake but it wasn't defrosted enough so I opened presents instead. I got a wii! My grandma also got me Just Dance for wii and my sister got me Country Dance for wii so I'm pretty set for now!

When everyone who was meeting at my house arrived we set out for the bar! My cousin-in-law got out of class early so he and my cousin were meeting us there but they were running late too so we all got there about the same time.

It was really a fun time and I'm so grateful to everyone for coming out!!

Day 011 - A picture of something you hate

What do I hate?
I try not to hate things, I mean there are some things I strongly dislike, but this one was difficult. I hate being embarrassed. I hate people reading over my shoulder. Sometimes I hate technology (especially my old computer and sometimes my phone). I hate missing out. Tonight I hate being early/on time for something and having to wait for everyone because they're all running late. Don't you just hate that? It's like they've all planned on being 15 minutes late and your just waiting there. Fortunately that did NOT happen to me tonight, but meeting my friends had me thinking about it...

Day 010 - A picture of the person you do the most ****** up things with

Well isn't this appropriate for Easter...Now this is hard because I don't think I actually do ****** up things so I may need to get back to this one. I really cannot think of anyone. It's weird. Oh well, I guess I'll leave this blank and edit it when I figure it out.

Day 009 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most

First off, Happy Birthday to my dad! I bought tickets for the fam to go see the SWB Yankees today and it was pretty awesome, even though the stadium was pretty empty and there was this obnoxious guy behind us talking the entire time...but the Yanks won and it didn't rain and was actually pretty nice out. We had pretty good seats and I was happy overall and I think Dad was too.

Now the person who's gotten me through the most was a hard one and really made me think (how dare this challenge challenge me!)...when I really think about it, I really haven't had a lot to "get through". Yeah, my family is always there for me, and yeah I have some super awesome friends, but when I really think about it, this is the friend that was there for me through all my silly college break-ups, there to listen to whatever was going on in my life, and all around an amazing friend. An instance that comes to mind was on Valentine's Day following a break-up with a former boyfriend. This girl sat and painted through my problems with me, answered the door when he came by to bring me flowers (I know, it was weird), and then baked with me and was my Valentine. I really don't know what I would have done without her. Probably locked myself in my room and cried. But she has been my strength and always a listening ear and just there to hang out with! While I have taken her for granted a bit in the past, I really want to thank her for being a best friend to me and I hope that I can be something close to as good a friend to her as she is to me!

Day 008 - A picture that makes you laugh

Today's picture left me sifting through pictures and trying to find the right one. I ended up with many contenders, but only one takes the cake. The nominee's are…

And the winner is...

This is a picture of my sis and her friend in HS doing the lift from Dirty Dancing. I was looking at all these pictures and I just could not stop laughing at this one. Now whenever I need a laugh I could just look at this post and laugh at all the pics :-)

Day 007 - A picture of your most treasured item

Today I rekindled my love affair with the smell of fresh cut grass. Is it really Thursday? You ever notice that when you have too much to do the week goes by too fast? Oh well... Oh and my baby fell over today and broke his chair but miraculously no limbs:

Being that he is too heavy for mom or I to pick up we have to wait for dad to come home.

And now for my most treasured item (which is pretty perfect for Holy Week)...

My CRY Bible! I got this Bible when I was a junior in high school at a Christ Renews His Youth Retreat (CRY). I love it and you can tell some of the love by the duct taping that went on back in HS by my BFF and I probably during HAP (Help & Access Period - the rest of the world would probably call this study hall but no, SBHS has to be different...go figure (-;)

This Bible has been so many places with me, I read it every night in HS and it came with me to World Youth Day for our pilgrimage through Italy, Austria, and Germany. It was Blessed by Pope Benedict XVI at WYD and it has come on (I think) every retreat I've been on since then. Although some of my friends don't think it's the most age-appropriate translation anymore I still favor it and the amount of underlining and writing in the margins rivals all the books I read in undergrad combined. It also attended almost every class with me my last semester of undergrad because I renewed my love for it after Silent Retreat I believe.

The Bible in general is the Word of God and I really enjoy hearing what He has to say, so it makes sense that the Bible is an important part of my life. Someone once told me BIBLE stood for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth and I love that. Really makes me treasure it that much more :-)

Have a Blessed Holy Thursday everyone! And pray for one of my BFF's LC while she's getting her feet washed at mass tonight -- she has a *slight may be a complete understatement* aversion to being touched but she does really like to be clean...

Peace&Love&God Bless!

Day 006 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

Kate Pierson. So I've pretty much been obsessed with Kate Pierson for quite a while now, saw her in concert twice, love listening to her voice, etc. But seriously, I want to BE her. I even tried to be her for Halloween one year! But all that aside, I would love to trade places with her for a day because she rocks! To be perfectly honest, I would want to trade places with her when she was younger, in like the early 80's so that I could be a star on the top of my career with a kick-ass voice. Not only is she a singer for the B-52's, but she has sung with artists such as Iggy Pop (Candy) and REM (Shiny Happy People). She always wears the coolest outfits and let's face it, I'm an 80's girl all the way. The best thing about Kate though is that she is still awesome today at 62 (just about 63) years of age.

I think the reason I want to be Kate and not Cindy is because even though I love both of their voices, I love Kate's more, and she's a Taurus and I remember how ah-mazing it feels when I think of how close I was to being born on her birthday (her's is the day after mine)! Since she is almost exactly 40 years older than me I feel a special bond to her that just grows with time :-) On my 20th Birthday I saw her in Philadelphia and then obtained her set list (I will swear it's her set list even though we can never be sure but I saw the guy pick it up from the floor in front of HER!) and then of course I was her for Halloween and then I saw her again in concert last September. Anyways, I think I would make a great Kate for a day and I hope I've made my case:-)

Day 005 - A picture of your favorite memory

So all day today I was thinking that the picture for today was actually the one for tomorrow and I didn't realize it was this one until just now. So here is my favorite memory: The Peter Pan Halloween.

I'm sure all my friends have heard about my love for Peter Pan as a child and the fact that being Peter Pan for Halloween was like my favorite costume ever. The problem was that I could never find a picture to show people! We have it on home video but we have looked and looked and looked and could not find pictures of it. So finally, after having many relatives looking also, I found this picture which was actually better than I imagined because although you can't really see me that well, my Grandpa is in the picture and I have such great memories of him from when he was alive as well. So this one is for Peter Pan, not wanting to grow up, and my Grandpa <3

Day 004 - A picture of your night

Picture's not ready yet, but I needed to post before the night ended. I had dinner at my Grandma's house and then we watched Dancing with the Stars and drank tea :-) I got a haircut--sort of--and now I'm going to post to school before it's too late. Be right back!!

So anyway, dinner at Gram's was nice, we ate and chatted and now she wants me to come over for dinner every Monday night on my way home from work, haha. I don't know, it sounds great but I guess we'll just have to see what happens...

We watched Wheel of Fortune. It was eh. I didn't win wheel watchers. The person got to go to Hawaii and what did I get? To watch some guy not be able to figure out "Golf Visor" from "-OL- --SOR" I mean, who knows if I would have gotten it by myself, it was my grandma who said visor and I figured out golf from there, but it's okay to judge when it's not you. Anyway, I just thought he should have gotten it because he had just figured out "Hole in one" from like "--L- -N -N-" and I mean, he was clearly already thinking golf. Too bad, he would have won $30,000 more. Can I say something though? THAT'S ALL ANYONE EVER GETS! They ALWAYS get the 30,000 or like once a week 35,000 but no one gets anything other than that. Watch, I say this now and tomorrow will be different but you know what I would say to that? GOOD FOR THEM! I may miss wheel tomorrow night though to go to our parish mission.

Anyways, after wheel was Dancing With The Stars and that was very enjoyable. Many of the stars are doing so well and tonight was American themed and I loved the outfits! I've been routing for Chelsea and Mark, but I also am a fan of Ralph and Karina. My dad is a big Chris Jericho fan and I have to admit, he is doing awesome! Also, Hines is so fun to watch and I love Petra and even Romeo is doing great. I really can't believe that I never watched this show before this season, but it's difficult to watch a bunch of shows at school especially since I never had nor wanted my own tv. Well either way, I'm watching it and enjoying it now.

I guess I should go to bed, I've got a long day tomorrow and I'm getting nervous about my interview. I should get up early tomorrow to make sure everything runs smoothly. It's either that or run the risk of being late to something. Well, goodnight! I will have those pics up as soon as my phone decides it's going to cooperate and send the email with the attachments. For now, enjoy this:

Day 003 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show

So here is the picture of the cast from my favorite show. Leverage is about a team of thieves that con bad guys into repaying the good guys. They're a little like private detectives but then they also trick the bad guys into getting caught or giving up their money or both. They can fool almost anyone and have tons of cool adventures. So basically now that you know about the show, meet the cast...

Nate. Nathan Ford is played by Timothy Hutton and he's the basic master mind behind many of their cons. He used to work for an insurance company chasing down thieves and investigating insurance fraud until he lost his child and his life fell apart. He was basically screwed over by the company he worked for and turned to this group of thieves for help in getting even to find that what really was important was doing the right thing for the people who can't afford to get even.

Sophie. Sophie Devereaux, played by Gina Bellman, is a grifter. She sucks as an actress on stage and the others were skeptical about making her a part of their team at first, but Nate convinced them that she is great at acting in real life. Although Sophie isn't her real name, that is what Nate knows her as and she wont tell him her real name. She has many aliases and can adapt to the circumstances easily.

Eliot. Eliot Spencer is played by actor Christian Cane and is the muscle of the team. As "hitter" Eliot is able to disarm and beat any opponent, and numerous opponents. He dislikes guns, but is an extremely talented marksman if he absolutely has to be. Most of the time he opts for his fighting skills though and is definitely talented in that.

Parker. Parker is played by Beth Riesgraf and is my favorite character. Beth's character is the "thief" who grew up an orphan who learned to steal. She is not afraid of heights, small spaces, or anything like that but is awkward when it comes to being around people. The things that Parker finds out of place probably seem normal to most people and what she finds normal may be considered weird to everyone else. She has a unique innocence about her that implies that her life was both sheltered and a little out of touch with the modern world, but it makes her character more appealing. Her character has definite "cool" appeal because of the things she does like rappelling down the side of a building or other things that some may consider dangerous.

Hardison. Alec Hardison, played by Aldis Hodge, is the "hacker". In essence, he's a computer geek who loves hacking for the fun of it and is extremely smart and experienced, but has an innocence to him as he is the youngest of the team members. He is able to create gadgets and manages all the communication of the team as well as locating the "bad guys" and gaining access to files otherwise not common knowledge. He has all the technology needed to monitor everything from their office, but is usually thrown into the field.

I hope you enjoyed learning about Leverage and I hope this inspires some to watch it :-)
